Type 2 diabetes has become a pandemic and is showing no signs of slowing down. Today, the estimated worldwide prevalence of type 1 and 2 diabetes is close to 300 million. This number is predicted to rise to 439 million by 2030, with type 2 diabetes accounting for about 90% of these cases. This video uses a "pizza delivery" analogy to explain what is happening when insulin, a hormone produced by the body, ceases to carry out its function.
